I spent quite a bit of time in Germany last year, it really highlighted the gaps in my history knowledge. Somewhere in the back of my mind I remembered an article in the now defunct Privateer magazine, something about tank tracks. I love a challenge and managed to get hold of a copy to read and with the aid of John Mullineaux found out more about the event.<br \/>\nWhilst the bulk of my wanting to do the event is the old cliche &#8220;because it&#8217;s there&#8221; it has also made me think a lot about history past and present. The political climate the wall went up in, and the hope as it came down. It now seems crazy to wall in a whole country, yet just across the pond there&#8217;s talk of Trumps wall. Did we learn anything?<\/div>\n<div>This year also seems very apt as it&#8217;s now the year where the wall has now been down as long as it was up.<\/div>\n<div>I don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s any better way to learn than to explore for yourself.
